About the role
The Administration Intern will support the Administration Officer in delivering day‑to‑day operational administration for Save the Children in Nairobi. Working under supervision, the intern will help ensure smooth office processes, maintain inventory, and assist with event and travel arrangements.
Key responsibilities
- Handle incoming and outgoing correspondence and issue stationery and consumables.
- Monitor inventory levels, reconcile physical stock with bin cards, and support store record keeping.
- Perform clerical tasks such as filing, recording deliveries, and tracking parcels.
- Maintain trackers and reports in Excel, contributing to process improvements.
- Assist with invitation letters, payment processing, and front‑office management as needed.
- Support event management, including booking accommodation, catering, and handling payments.
- Gain exposure to General Programme Equipment (GPE) management, cost‑benefit tracking, and travel management procedures.
Required profile
- Enrolled in or recently graduated from a relevant administrative or business program.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow standard operating procedures.
- Willingness to learn and support various administrative functions in a humanitarian setting.
- Commitment to child safeguarding principles.
Required skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data tracking and reporting.
