Applications & Software Officer

About the role

Brites Management Services is hiring a full-time Applications & Software Officer in Mlolongo. The officer manages software applications and operational systems so that they run efficiently and integrate smoothly in a manufacturing organization, optimizing enterprise applications to support daily operations and improve productivity.

Key responsibilities

• Install, configure, maintain and administer enterprise applications, ERP systems and operational software, keeping configurations, documentation, user access and system records up to date.
• Monitor application availability, performance and functionality, and diagnose and resolve incidents while escalating complex issues to vendors or developers.
• Support ERP and operational systems such as SAP, Oracle or equivalents, working with business and production teams on inventory, procurement, finance, quality, production and supply chain processes.
• Customize applications and support integrations between ERP, databases and other systems, using scripting and database technologies such as Python and SQL.
• Plan and test upgrades, patches and configuration changes, and maintain change-management procedures.
• Analyze performance data to find bottlenecks, improve reliability and speed, and report on usage and availability.
• Provide user guidance, write user guides, run training sessions and gather user feedback.
• Keep applications secure and compliant, monitor licenses and access, and support security assessments, audits and vulnerability remediation.
• Maintain documentation, incident records and regular reports on performance and support activities.

Required profile

• Degree in Information Technology, Software Engineering or a related field.
• 3-5 years of experience in software application management, with a focus on manufacturing environments.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes and ability to train users and explain technical concepts clearly.

Required skills

• Managing applications such as SAP, Oracle or similar systems.
• Scripting languages such as Python and SQL for automation and integration.
• Certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator or equivalent.
• Strong analytical skills for assessing system efficiency and process optimization.
