Back-end Engineer (Mid-Level) – AWS, Python, Node.js

About the role

Zeno is building the backend platform that powers its EV battery‑swapping ecosystem, handling vehicle telemetry, station orchestration, payments and fleet management. We are looking for a mid‑level Backend Engineer to design, develop and maintain microservices on AWS using Python and Node.js.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain microservices such as Vehicle Service, Swap Station Service, Transaction Management and Wallet Management using FastAPI/Flask and Express.
• Design and expose RESTful APIs consumed by mobile and web clients.
• Work with PostgreSQL/RDS for core data and ClickHouse for high‑volume telemetry.
• Implement asynchronous, event‑driven workflows and ensure idempotent ledger processing.
• Deploy and operate services on AWS (ECS, RDS, S3, CloudWatch) and handle CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions.
• Write data‑ingestion logic for telemetry streams, conduct code reviews, and create unit/integration tests.
• Debug production issues, monitor logs, and manage dead‑letter queues.
• Collaborate on system design and contribute to technical documentation.

Required profile

• 5+ years of backend development experience.
• Strong proficiency in Python and/or Node.js.
• Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs.
• Working knowledge of AWS services (ECS, RDS, S3, SQS/SNS, CloudWatch).
• Experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL/MySQL); familiarity with ClickHouse is a plus.
• Understanding of asynchronous/event‑driven architecture.
• Proficient with Git and collaborative workflows.
• Solid software testing practices (unit and integration testing).
• Good problem‑solving, debugging, communication and teamwork skills.
