Cashier - Building Materials Retail

About the role

Brites Management Services is hiring a full-time Cashier for its building materials business on Mombasa Road. The Cashier handles customer payments, processes sales transactions, issues invoices and receipts and keeps accurate cash and transaction records.

Key responsibilities

• Receive and process payments by cash, card, mobile money and other approved methods, and issue receipts and invoices.
• Verify prices, quantities, discounts and payment details before completing transactions, and reconcile cash daily.
• Prepare and process invoices and sales orders through the company's system or POS platform, coordinating with sales and stores teams.
• Assist customers with product and pricing questions, and help resolve billing and pricing queries.
• Maintain records of cash, receipts, invoices, refunds and transactions, file documents securely and follow internal control procedures.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in any field.
• At least 2 years of experience as a Cashier, preferably in construction hardware, building materials, tiles, sanitary ware or furniture retail.
• Good knowledge of construction materials, ceramic tiles, sanitary ware and/or furniture.

Required skills

• POS, invoicing or sales systems.
• Basic computer skills and good numerical and reconciliation skills.
• Experience with multiple payment methods is an advantage.
