Certified HERS Rater – Home Energy Rating Specialist

About the role

Aeroseal is seeking a certified HERS Rater to join its accredited Rating Providership team. You will conduct on‑site inspections, perform energy testing, and generate Home Energy Ratings in accordance with RESNET standards and local energy codes.

Key responsibilities

• Perform software energy modeling from plans or on‑site verifications.
• Conduct home performance testing (blower door, duct leakage, fan flow, room pressure differential) for rating, code compliance, and certification.
• Verify thermal bypass, air leakage compliance, and insulation grading on‑site.
• Generate detailed site inspection reports using the Company Cam app.

Required profile

• Completed RESNET HERS Rater training with passed testing/probationary ratings and ongoing CEUs.
• Solid understanding of building science and ability to read building plans/blueprints.
• Physical ability to lift ~50 lb equipment, climb ladders, and perform field work.
• Reliable transportation capable of carrying testing equipment and ladder.
• Basic computer proficiency (Office, email, PDFs, digital images) and ability to work from home when not in the field.
