Maintenance Operative – Seaford Care Homes

About the role

South Coast Nursing Homes is looking for a Maintenance Operative to join the team at Blatchington Manor Care Home in Seaford. You will deliver high‑quality reactive maintenance and support small projects across our network of care homes, travelling between sites as required.

Key responsibilities

• Perform reactive maintenance tasks promptly, ensuring resident safety and comfort.
• Carry out basic project work such as minor refurbishments and upgrades.
• Travel to other care home sites in a company van, maintaining a clean driving record.
• Use computers and mobile devices to log work, request parts, and communicate with the Head of Estates.

Required profile

• Hands‑on experience in plumbing, basic electrics, basic carpentry and painting & decorating.
• Ability to work in a busy, team‑oriented environment while managing conflicting priorities.
• Proactive attitude with the capacity to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Full clean driver’s licence and willingness to travel between sites.
• Comfortable using computers and mobile technology.
