Chief Nutrition Officer (P-5)

About the role

The Chief Nutrition (P-5) will provide senior leadership for UNICEF’s nutrition portfolio in Kenya, shaping strategy, overseeing programme design and ensuring high‑impact delivery to improve child health and nutrition outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Provide managerial leadership and strategic direction for nutrition programmes.
• Develop and plan nutrition initiatives aligned with UNICEF’s global objectives.
• Manage programme implementation, monitoring, and quality control of results.
• Offer advisory services and technical support to country teams and partners.
• Lead advocacy, networking and partnership‑building activities.
• Drive innovation, knowledge management and capacity‑building efforts.

Required profile

• Master’s degree or equivalent in Nutrition, Public Health, Nutritional Epidemiology, Global Health, or a related health science.
• At least 10 years of relevant experience in nutrition, public health, nutrition policy, health systems, food systems or humanitarian nutrition.
• Proven experience in managerial leadership, advocacy, partnership building and strategic thinking.
• Fluency in English.
