Communications Manager (DREEM)

About the role

The Communications Manager will lead communications for the DREEM initiative, a five‑year partnership between WUSC and the Mastercard Foundation aimed at supporting refugee, displaced and host‑community youth across Africa. Reporting to the DREEM Project Director, you will shape the narrative, raise the profile of the programme and ensure consistent messaging across multiple countries.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement a comprehensive communications strategy for the DREEM phase II project.
• Produce and edit content for reports, newsletters, social media, and web platforms.
• Manage media relations, including press releases, briefings and interview coordination.
• Coordinate with Refugee‑Led Organizations and partner agencies to gather stories, data and impact evidence.
• Oversee branding, visual identity and messaging consistency across all project materials.
• Monitor and evaluate communications outcomes, providing regular analytics and recommendations.

Required profile

• University degree in Communications, Journalism, International Development or a related field.
• Proven experience in communications within international development or humanitarian contexts.
• Excellent written and verbal English skills; additional language proficiency is a plus.
• Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders across multiple African countries.
