Brand Manager – Premium Construction Equipment

About the role

JAPAfrica is seeking a senior Brand Manager to lead the development, positioning and commercial growth of premium construction and mining equipment brands across African markets. The role combines strategic brand stewardship with close collaboration with international manufacturers, dealers and after‑sales teams.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and develop the assigned Hyundai Construction Equipment (HCE) brand across all JAPAfrica markets.
• Define product adaptations that meet the specific needs of each region.
• Develop and execute the brand’s commercial strategy, including pricing and market positioning.
• Support the growth and performance of the dealer/importer network.
• Design and implement after‑sales strategies aligned with brand standards.
• Monitor market trends, competitor activity and customer requirements.
• Track business KPIs, commercial performance and brand development indicators.
• Lead negotiations and communications with international partners and key stakeholders.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of experience with premium construction or mining equipment brands such as CAT, Volvo, Komatsu or Liebherr.
• Proven background in brand management from an importer, distributor or regional perspective.
• Strong understanding of international markets, dealer networks and after‑sales operations.
• Strategic mindset with the ability to set commercial priorities across multiple countries.
• Excellent negotiation, communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Willingness to travel frequently internationally.
• Native or equivalent level of English; additional languages are a plus.
