Job description

About the role

Amentum is seeking a Crane Inspector to support a unique U.S. Navy program on Diego Garcia. The role involves ensuring cranes and hoisting equipment meet safety and operational standards.

Key responsibilities

  • Conduct periodic inspections, testing, and certification of mobile, overhead, and tower cranes.
  • Perform load testing, visual and operational inspections, and document all activities.
  • Advise maintenance teams on corrective actions and ensure inspection tools are calibrated.
  • Collaborate with supervisors and safety professionals to resolve crane operation issues.

Required profile

  • 1–3 years of experience in crane inspections or heavy equipment assessments.
  • High school diploma or equivalent and ability to read, speak, and comprehend English.
  • Valid passport for at least one year and ability to obtain required visas and security clearances.

Required skills

  • Crane inspection and load testing.
  • Knowledge of ASME B30, OSHA regulations, and NAVFAC P-307 standards.
  • Rigging inspection and certification of slings, shackles, and lifting devices.
