Financial Accountant – Accounts Payable (Nairobi)

About the role

Equiti is looking for a detail‑oriented Financial Accountant to join its Nairobi office. The role will focus on the Accounts Payable function, handling vendor onboarding, invoice processing and ensuring timely payments while supporting month‑end closing activities.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the full Accounts Payable cycle, including vendor onboarding, PR/PO processing, invoice verification, approvals and payments.
• Coordinate with internal teams to secure timely invoice approvals and execute payments.
• Post invoices and related entries in SAP and perform supplier reconciliations.
• Prepare payable/receivable schedules, post adjustments in SAP and execute bank and vendor reconciliations.
• Update accruals and pre‑payment schedules during month‑end closing.
• Maintain the Fixed Assets Register, handling additions, disposals and depreciation.
• Support internal and external audits with required documentation.
• Perform additional finance tasks as assigned.

Required profile

• Minimum 4 years of professional experience in financial accounting.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting.
• Professional qualification such as CPA or ACCA.

Required skills

• Proficiency in SAP.
• Strong command of Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
