Gender, Disability Social Inclusion and Education Advisor

About the role

The Gender, Disability Social Inclusion and Education Advisor will provide technical guidance and coordination across World Vision Kenya’s programmes to mainstream GEDSI principles and strengthen education interventions. The role works closely with sector teams, external partners and donors to ensure effective, inclusive programming in fragile contexts.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the integration of gender equality, disability and social inclusion (GEDSI) into all programmes, ensuring compliance with World Vision, donor and international standards.
• Coordinate education sector activities, provide technical support to field staff, and ensure quality assurance of education interventions.
• Develop and review assessment tools, strategic plans and budgets that address gender and disability issues.
• Facilitate capacity‑building for staff and partners on GEDSI and education approaches.
• Support fundraising, grant acquisition and proposal development with a strong GEDSI focus.

Required profile

• At least 7 years of experience in gender, disability, social inclusion and education programming, with a proven track record in proposal development and grant management.
• Bachelor’s degree in Gender, Education, Social Sciences or related field; postgraduate qualification is an advantage.
• Demonstrated ability to engage government ministries, donors and other stakeholders.
• Strong understanding of international gender mainstreaming approaches and ability to influence policy.
