Senior Lecturer – Community Health Practice

About the role

The Senior Lecturer will teach and supervise students in Community Health Practice, develop curricula, conduct research, and engage with community health programmes. The position is based on‑site at the university in Nairobi.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver lectures, tutorials, seminars and skills‑based sessions in Public Health to undergraduate and graduate students.
• Design, develop, review and implement curricula and syllabi, and moderate examinations.
• Provide academic advising, mentorship and supervision for postgraduate researchers.
• Participate in departmental, faculty and university committees, quality‑assurance and accreditation activities.
• Develop partnerships with healthcare institutions and represent the department at academic and public forums.
• Conduct independent and collaborative research, manage grants and publish in peer‑reviewed journals.

Required profile

• PhD in Community Health, Public Health or a related discipline from a recognised institution.
• At least five years of university teaching experience in Public Health at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
• Demonstrated experience in curriculum design, postgraduate supervision and academic committee work.
• Registered with the relevant professional body where applicable.
• Evidence of scholarly publications and successful research grant management.
