Governance & Parliamentary Lead (Consultancy)

About the role

Craftwise Academy is seeking a Governance & Parliamentary Lead on a short‑term consultancy basis to work on‑site in Nairobi. The consultant will manage relationships with government and parliamentary stakeholders, provide governance expertise, and ensure the organisation aligns with regulatory and legislative standards.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and draft governance policies and procedures.
• Monitor and analyse government and legislative activities relevant to the Academy.
• Provide strategic recommendations to enhance compliance with Kenyan and East African legislative frameworks.
• Engage with parliamentary committees and officials to represent the Academy’s interests.
• Support project planning and implementation of governance initiatives.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Governance, Public Policy, Legislative Studies, International Relations, Public Administration, Business Administration (MBA) or related field (preferred).
• Bachelor’s degree in Law, Political Science, Public Policy, Governance, Public Administration, International Relations, Development Studies or related field.
• Strong understanding of governance frameworks, public policies and parliamentary processes.
• Excellent written communication, document drafting and policy analysis skills.
• Proven stakeholder management and negotiation abilities.
• Experience in governance advisory, policy development or legal consultancy.
• Ability to work on‑site in a fast‑paced environment and commit to 50 full‑time days over two months.
