Head of Engineering, Sales & Marketing Tools

About the role

Moniepoint Inc. is seeking a Head of Engineering for its Sales & Marketing Tools platform in Kenya. You will lead the engineering team responsible for MonieCRM, a custom-built workforce operations system that powers a 50,000‑strong sales network and handles critical financial functions such as wallets, commission calculation and cash‑out.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute the technical roadmap for MonieCRM and related sales‑enablement services.
• Modernise legacy systems, improve reliability and scalability for a user base exceeding 20 million.
• Ensure financial correctness of wallet, commission and cash‑out modules.
• Lead, mentor and grow a multi‑disciplinary engineering team through rapid growth phases.
• Collaborate with product, data and operations teams to deliver AI‑assisted support, partner management and marketing technology integrations (e.g., Braze).
• Drive engineering best practices, code quality and operational excellence.

Required profile

• 10–15 years of software engineering experience, with at least 5 years leading engineering teams.
• 5 + years of hands‑on production‑level Java development.
• Proven track record of scaling complex platforms and modernising legacy architectures.
• Strong analytical mindset with a focus on financial accuracy and system reliability.
