Head of Engineering, Supply Chain

About the role

Moniepoint Inc. is expanding its POS hardware and device platforms into Kenya and needs a senior engineering leader to own the software that powers inventory, logistics, repair and maintenance workflows for millions of devices. This role focuses on backend and distributed systems at real scale, ensuring operational data is visible, trustworthy and consistent across markets.

Key responsibilities

• Define and own the technical strategy and architecture for inventory, logistics and repair management tools.
• Lead an engineering organisation of roughly 25 engineers, including managers, QA, SRE and data engineers.
• Drive platformisation of supply‑chain systems to provide reliable, consistent data across millions of terminals.
• Bridge operational practice and software systems by building disciplined, operationally‑focused solutions.
• Set architecture standards, engineering processes and quality metrics to ensure reliability and data integrity.
• Collaborate with business and operational stakeholders to translate requirements into engineering solutions.
• Hire, mentor and develop engineering managers and senior engineers, scaling the team to 30+ members.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading large, remote or distributed engineering organisations.
• Strong background in designing and scaling backend and distributed systems.
• Experience shaping technical strategy for supply‑chain or logistics platforms.
• Ability to work closely with operational teams and translate business needs into technical solutions.
