Housekeeper

About the role

Brites Management Services is hiring a full-time Housekeeper in Kajiado, Kenya, within the hospitality industry. Accommodation is provided. The role covers keeping the house clean and tidy, serving guests and managing laundry and household supplies.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain high standards of cleanliness and order in bedrooms, bathrooms, living rooms and common areas, making beds, changing linen and arranging guest rooms.
• Dust, sweep, mop, vacuum and sanitize surfaces, furniture and floors, and monitor cleanliness throughout the day.
• Welcome guests warmly, respond promptly to their requests and prepare rooms and common areas for arrivals while keeping guest privacy and confidentiality.
• Wash, dry, iron, fold and organize bed linen, towels and other fabrics, and keep them stored and ready for use.
• Organize household items, toiletries and cleaning supplies, and report damaged or missing items to the supervisor.
• Monitor stock of cleaning products and toiletries, use cleaning equipment safely and follow hygiene procedures.
• Keep cleaning equipment and storage areas clean and secure, and report maintenance issues, safety hazards and damages to the supervisor or property manager.

Required profile

• At least two years of proven experience as a Housekeeper.
• Experience in a private residence, hotel, lodge or guest house is preferred.
• A housekeeping or hospitality certificate is an added advantage.

Required skills

• Basic knowledge of cleaning techniques, laundry procedures, linen care and household organization.
• Understanding of hygiene standards and safe handling of cleaning products.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to follow instructions, work independently and prioritize daily tasks.
