HR Officer – People Operations

About the role

4G Capital is looking for a proactive, detail-oriented and service-driven HR Officer (People Operations) to join its People & Culture team in Nairobi. The role is the backbone of day-to-day HR operations, supporting branches and field teams while driving HRIS migration and automation, managing employee relations within strict service levels and keeping compliance with Kenyan labor laws.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate employee relations cases, disciplinary hearings and PIPs fairly and compliantly, meeting a strict 10-day SLA for closure
• Lead migration of the organizational directory into the HRIS, automate document workflows and set up a streamlined post-probation tracking system
• Act as the first line of HR support for field teams, resolving ticketing inquiries via Hiver efficiently
• Maintain audit-ready employee records so that HR practices comply with Kenyan labor laws
• Oversee attendance and leave tracking and generate HR metrics to support data-driven decisions

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field, with active IHRM membership
• At least 2 years of hands-on HR experience in a fast-paced environment
• Strong grasp of Kenyan labor laws, employee relations and performance processes
• Practical proficiency with modern HRIS platforms and workflow automation
• Integrity, confidentiality, organizational skills and a proactive, problem-solving mindset
