HR Operations Associate

About the role

BasiGo is an early-stage e-mobility start-up providing bus owners with a cost-effective electric alternative to diesel. Its Kenya team is looking for an HR Operations Associate to report directly to the Head of People - Kenya. You will support the Head of People with recruitment, onboarding, offboarding, HR operations and administration, and event coordination where needed.

Key responsibilities

• Talent acquisition: support the candidate life cycle for Kenya roles and applicants, help develop recruitment materials such as job descriptions, and support talent acquisition projects
• New hire admin: own and execute onboarding and offboarding of junior to mid-level employees by coordinating mandatory training
• HR ops and team admin: manage people-related reporting and benefits administration, maintain accurate and confidential employee and HR records, support immigration admin and give general administrative support to the HR team
• Culture: help organise team events, renovate office space and handle reception duties

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field
• At least 3 years of experience as a human resources generalist or operations associate
• Experience working in HR in Kenya, including recruitment, talent acquisition and onboarding
• Experience with an HRIS and applicant tracking system, and start-up experience
• Ability to work in a diverse, inclusive environment and adapt to change

Required skills

• Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word) and Google Workspace (Drive, Docs, Sheets, Forms)
• Strong execution, process management and attention to detail
• Excellent written and oral communication, teamwork and integrity
• Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, multicultural and virtual setting
