IFFO Supervisor - Implant (Freight Forwarding)

About the role

AGL (Africa Global Logistics), a multimodal logistics operator (port, logistics, maritime and rail) in Africa and part of the MSC Group, is hiring a permanent full-time IFFO Supervisor for its freight forwarding operations in Nairobi. The role covers sugar shipments handled for the client Czarnikow, including bookings, customs clearance, warehousing and invoicing.

Key responsibilities

• Liaise with Czarnikow on booking expected shipments from various origins to Mombasa Port and follow sugar deliveries to clients
• Ensure clearance documents are received and that clearance and delivery of shipments for Czarnikow clients in Kenya and Uganda run smoothly
• Track containers from port to warehouses in Mombasa, Nairobi and Kampala, maintain sugar stock records and prepare weekly stock reports
• Advise Czarnikow of changes in import regulations and monitor stock levels
• Handle shipping: make IDF applications for proforma invoices, submit C60 (EGPSP) applications to Treasury, follow up on shipping schedules, conformity certifications and sugar permit applications
• Handle clearance: calculate duty estimates, request funds from Czarnikow London, ensure duties and taxes are paid promptly, update clients daily and avoid penalties
• Warehousing: strip containers on arrival, return empties, alert on low stock and keep stock records for Kenya and Uganda
• Invoicing and payments: raise invoices at agreed rates, pass them to finance, follow up approvals and ensure payments on account are matched off

Required profile

• 8 years of experience in shipping and logistics
