Supply Chain Management Officer II

About the role

The Independent Policing Oversight Authority (IPOA) is recruiting a Supply Chain Management Officer II (Grade IPOA 9, position consolidated) for its Supply Chain Management department at headquarters in Nairobi. The officer manages and administers the supply chain function so that goods, works and services are available in time. The post reports to the Senior Assistant Director, Supply Chain Management.

Key responsibilities

• Support the implementation of policies, strategies, guidelines, plans, standards and procedures affecting supply chain management, ensuring compliance with applicable laws, statutes and circulars.
• Conduct market surveys and research to inform procurement of goods, works and services.
• Support capacity-building programmes on supply chain processes within the Authority.
• Register and prequalify suppliers and maintain the supplier lists.
• Update inventory and stores in line with regulations, and update records in the division.
• Consolidate data for internal and external reports.
• Implement risk-mitigation measures and issue items to staff according to requisitions.
• Develop and implement an individual work plan.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Procurement, Purchasing, Logistics, Business Administration, Commerce or an equivalent qualification from a recognised institution.
• Membership of the Kenya Institute of Supplies Management (KISM).
• Proficiency in computer applications.
