About the role
ILRI, a CGIAR research centre dedicated to animal agriculture research for the developing world, offers internships as short-term academic training for young professionals. Interns join for a short period, usually 3 months or less but up to 6 months, as part of their academic curriculum and are expected to return to their studies after completion. The internship helps students connect theory to practice and supports capacity development across the institute's research areas.
Interns work five days per week under the supervision and mentorship of a staff member in the department or programme to which they are assigned.
Required profile
- Enrolled in an undergraduate university degree programme, with at least one full semester remaining; diploma, certificate and senior high school students may also be considered through partnerships.
- Proficiency in English.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
What we offer
- A stipend covering living expenses and insurance.
- Mentorship by a staff member during the internship.
To apply, candidates send an application letter, detailed CV, motivation letter and university internship request letter to the Head of Capacity Development. Only shortlisted candidates are contacted, and ILRI charges no fees at any stage of the process.
