Painter for US Navy program

About the role

Amentum is seeking a Painter to support a US Navy program on Diego Garcia. The role involves surface preparation, painting, and finishing work on buildings, equipment, and facilities to preserve and protect government assets.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preservation, surface preparation, coating, and finishing tasks on assigned structures following Navy and program standards.
• Prepare surfaces by removing rust, corrosion, old coatings, and debris using hand tools, pneumatic tools, grinders, and sanders.
• Apply primers, paints, coatings, and sealants with brushes, rollers, and spray equipment according to technical instructions.
• Support corrosion‑control activities, including chipping, scraping, sanding, masking, and coating.
• Maintain cleanliness, readiness, and accountability of all painting tools, PPE, materials, and equipment.

Required profile

• 1‑3 years of experience in painting, preservation, coatings, or corrosion control.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Valid passport with at least one year remaining validity and ability to obtain required visas.
• Ability to meet contract medical and security requirements for overseas deployment.
