Processing Supervisor (Coffee)

About the role

AGL (Africa Global Logistics), a multimodal logistics operator (port, logistics, maritime and rail) in Africa and part of the MSC Group, is hiring a Processing Supervisor in Nairobi on a fixed-term contract. The role supervises and coordinates all coffee processing activities so that customer instructions are followed accurately, safely and within agreed timelines.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and supervise daily coffee processing activities based on approved customer instructions and operational priorities.
• Verify the correct coffee lot, marks, bags and quantities before processing starts.
• Ensure processing follows approved customer instructions and allocate labour, machinery and areas, tracking overtime.
• Monitor output against daily targets and resolve delays or bottlenecks; coordinate equipment availability with maintenance.
• Maintain accurate processing records and prepare a daily report on production, outstanding jobs, downtime, labour use, variances and issues needing management attention.
• Maintain housekeeping and 5S standards, run daily toolbox/shift briefings and identify efficiency improvements.
• Provide data for job costing and productivity analysis, keep coffee identified and segregated throughout processing, and train staff on SOPs, product handling and equipment operation.
• Ensure finished coffee is handed back to warehouse inventory control.

Required profile

• Experience in coffee warehousing, milling, processing or export operations.
• Knowledge of green coffee grades and handling requirements.
• HSE, food safety, quality-management or 5S training.

Required skills

• Experience with warehouse management or ERP systems.
