Quantity Surveyor

About the role

Brites Management Services is hiring a full-time Quantity Surveyor based in Westlands. The role covers project planning, cost control, contract administration and reporting, with a stated stipend of KShs 40,000.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare project budgets, cost estimates and cost plans, and develop Bills of Quantities (BOQs) and detailed quotations.
• Attend site surveys and inspections, conduct site measurements and verify completed works.
• Monitor project progress against approved budgets and timelines, and identify risks affecting cost or schedule.
• Administer contracts with nominated subcontractors, prepare subcontract agreements and process payment certificates.
• Prepare site progress reports, valuation reports and final project accounts, and liaise with clients, consultants, suppliers and contractors.
• Evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations and support procurement by reviewing pricing and technical specifications.

Required profile

• Degree or diploma in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics or a related field.
• At least 2-3 years of experience in a similar role.
• Experience in project planning, cost estimation, BOQ preparation and contract administration.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Excel, AutoCAD, MS Project and other standard computer applications.
• Strong analytical, numerical and report-writing skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Negotiation and contract management abilities.
