R&D Engineering Manager

About the role

Wipaire is seeking an experienced R&D Engineering Manager to lead a multidisciplinary team responsible for electronic, electrical, mechanical and systems engineering. Reporting to the Vice President of Engineering, you will drive the research, design, development and certification of new and improved aircraft float products from concept through production launch.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and guidance to engineers across electronic, electrical, mechanical and systems domains.
• Set clear R&D goals, monitor progress, and ensure alignment with business objectives.
• Manage product development timelines, budgets, and regulatory compliance.
• Collaborate with program managers to translate engineering concepts into actionable plans.
• Foster innovation while maintaining technical excellence and safety standards.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams in a product development environment.
• Strong understanding of aviation or related manufacturing regulations and certification processes.
• Ability to balance innovation, budget constraints, and timeline commitments.
• Excellent communication skills to convey complex technical information to senior management.
