Senior Pricing Advisor, World Bank

About the role

The International Rescue Committee (IRC) is hiring a Senior Pricing Advisor to join its Global Business Development team within the Awards Management Unit. The role supports IRC's new business development, especially with the World Bank, by guiding, assisting and supporting proposals through the full business development cycle while balancing cost recovery, risk mitigation, price competitiveness and compliance with donor regulations. It is open to candidates located in Kenya, the United Kingdom and Germany.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as Capture Pricing Lead, preparing effective budget proposals for major funding opportunities, including the World Bank and other multilateral development banks
• Research and evaluate cost drivers per country and aggregate budgetary details into clear rough estimates
• Lead budget development and quality assurance for major proposals, review solicitations and advise the proposal team on donor regulations and financial requirements
• Identify financial and commercial risks and propose tailored mitigation plans
• Integrate pricing inputs from Country Offices and technical units, lead detailed cost and technical queries, and develop payment-by-results structures and fee schedules
• Contribute to organisational pricing capacity building, including pricing tools, templates, training and After Action Reviews
• Travel internationally up to 20% of the time and work autonomously under remote management

Required profile

• Demonstrable experience developing cost proposals, including grant and contract types, Payment by Results approaches and fee rate structures
• At least 5 years' experience preparing proposals, with a background at an INGO or a commercial organisation
• In-depth understanding of World Bank financial rules and regulations, able to identify donor-specific risks
• Fluent written and spoken English; French strongly preferred
• Ability to work in inclusive teams, remotely and with tight deadlines
