Senior Transport Coordinator

About the role

AGL (Africa Global Logistics), a multimodal logistics operator (port, logistics, maritime and rail) in Africa and part of the MSC Group, is hiring a Solutions Senior Transport Coordinator in Nairobi. The role plans, coordinates and monitors transport activities so that goods are delivered efficiently, cost-effectively and on time, while managing fleet utilization, transporter relationships, compliance and service delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate daily transport operations and truck allocations, plan vehicle utilization and monitor dispatch schedules
• Manage route planning and load optimization, and liaise with warehouses, customers and transport providers
• Monitor transporter performance against KPIs, track fleet utilization and turnaround time, and support contract management and onboarding
• Follow shipments from loading to delivery, investigate delays and accidents, and implement corrective actions
• Monitor transport costs, validate invoices and supporting documentation
• Ensure compliance with transport regulations, vehicle licensing, insurance and permits, and promote a safety culture
• Prepare daily, weekly and monthly performance reports and track KPIs such as on-time delivery, vehicle utilization and fleet availability
• Work with freight forwarders, warehouses and supply chain teams on delivery schedules and continuous improvement

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, transport management or a related field
• 5 years of experience in transport, logistics or fleet management
• At least 3 years in a supervisory or coordination role
• Experience managing third-party transport providers and large-scale distribution operations
