Service Advisor (Construction Equipment)

About the role

A leading automotive company in Kenya, represented by Summit Recruitment & Search, is looking for a Service Advisor for its Hyundai construction equipment business in Nairobi. The advisor acts as the main link between customers and the service department, ensuring efficient scheduling, accurate job scoping and high-quality service, while helping drive customer satisfaction and revenue growth in service and parts.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the first point of contact for customer inquiries, capture service needs and create detailed job cards.
• Coordinate service jobs by scheduling work, liaising with technicians and ensuring timely completion of repairs.
• Keep customers informed about diagnostics, repair progress, costs and timelines.
• Ensure accurate job costing for labour, parts and external services, with proper documentation.
• Work with the parts department to keep required components available and minimise downtime.
• Check completed work against job cards and uphold quality standards before handover.
• Handle customer feedback and complaints professionally, resolve them and promote service offerings.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or diploma in Automotive Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• 3-5 years' experience in a similar role within the automotive industry.
• Experience with Hyundai equipment or similar brands.
• Valid driving licence and willingness to travel occasionally to regional branches.

Required skills

• Strong technical understanding of heavy machinery.
• Proficiency in workshop management systems and basic computer applications.
