Electrical Engineer

About the role

Howard Humphreys is recruiting a full-time, on-site Electrical Engineer in Nairobi. The engineer designs, reviews and supervises electrical engineering works, conducts site inspections and ensures projects meet safety and quality standards. The position is open until 9 November 2026.

Key responsibilities

• Design, review and supervise electrical engineering works
• Conduct site inspections
• Ensure projects meet safety and quality standards
• Prepare bid documentation and evaluate EPC or specialist contractor proposals

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from a recognised university
• At least five years of relevant post-graduation experience in electrical building services design, tender documentation and construction supervision
• Registered as a Graduate Engineer with the Engineers Board of Kenya (EBK)
• Experience across residential, commercial, institutional and industrial buildings, as well as infrastructure and renewable energy projects

Required skills

• Sound working knowledge of Kenyan and international electrical codes and standards such as IEE/BS 7671, KEBS/KS and IEC, and NFPA fire and life-safety codes
• AutoCAD and Revit for technical drawings, and DIALux or Relux for lighting design and photometric analysis
• Exposure to Solar PV and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) design and integration
