Warehouse Team Leader (M/F)

About the role

AGL (Africa Global Logistics), a multimodal logistics operator (port, logistics, maritime and rail) now part of the MSC Group, is hiring a full-time Warehouse Team Leader in Nairobi, Kenya. The role covers coordination between the warehouse and production teams and supervising warehouse staff.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate activities between WMS, ESR, palletizing and production (SMD/PMD) to ensure efficient transfer of materials and finished goods.
• Supervise WMS/ODS data clerks, material transporters, palletizing warehousemen and MHE operators at ODS/palletizing.
• Support the factory by following BAT's standard operating procedures for material issuance and finished goods receipt and posting.
• Visit factory modules hourly to check Kanban reorder levels and production schedules, and verify that outgoing materials are recorded correctly.
• Ensure materials at factory Kanbans stay within limits and that materials delivered match the specific module.
• Act as liaison between WMS/palletizing and production teams, and ensure data clerks run stock checks, audits and cycle counts accurately.
• Provide daily reports such as cycle counts and production reports, and take part in mid- and end-of-month stock takes.
• Keep ODS housekeeping tidy using the 5S technique, hold daily toolbox meetings, and monitor performance and safety.
• Maintain accurate records of all ODS documentation books and complete delegated tasks proactively.

Required profile

• Tertiary education in logistics, supply chain or a related field.
• 2 years' experience in supply chain or a related field.
• Training in the MS Office suite and other industry-related courses is an advantage.
