Accountant – Finance & Compliance

About the role

This full‑time, on‑site Accountant (Finance & Compliance) will be based in Nairobi County, Kenya. You will clean up and organise the company’s books, then own statutory compliance with the Insurance Regulatory Authority (IRA), Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) and other regulators as the business expands.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, review and maintain accurate financial records, including general ledgers, reconciliations and financial statements.
• Manage financial reporting cycles, budgeting and forecasting processes.
• Ensure compliance with Kenyan accounting standards, tax regulations and internal policies.
• Process transactions using accounting software, monitor cash flows and support audits.
• Produce timely management reports and analytical insights for decision‑making.
• Collaborate with internal teams to strengthen financial controls and respond to regulatory requirements.

Required profile

• Strong finance knowledge with ability to prepare and interpret financial statements.
• Solid analytical skills to review data, identify trends and support risk management.
• Proficiency in accounting software and digital bookkeeping tools.
• Good understanding of Kenyan tax regulations and compliance processes.
• CPA‑K or ACCA (qualified or finalist) preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or related field is an advantage.
• Detail‑oriented, independent and able to meet deadlines.
