Accounts Receivable Specialist

About the role

The Accounts Receivable Specialist will manage invoicing, collections, and reconciliation for Royal Mabati Factory Limited, ensuring accurate posting of customer transactions and compliance with Kenyan tax regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Collect, verify, and organize invoices and supporting documents from all branches and units.
• Approve, batch, and upload invoices into ERP/AR systems, maintaining proper backup and archival.
• Record and allocate customer receipts (bank, MPESA, cheque, RTGS) and reconcile accounts monthly.
• Investigate billing discrepancies, pricing issues, and invoice disputes.
• Prepare month‑end AR reconciliations and ensure sub‑ledger to general ledger alignment.
• Monitor AR aging reports, follow up overdue invoices, and enforce credit policy.
• Engage customers, sales teams, and internal departments to resolve payment issues and maintain positive relationships.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or a related field.
• CPA (K) or equivalent professional qualification (ACCA, CCP).
• Minimum 3 years of experience in Accounts Receivable, preferably in manufacturing or FMCG.
• Strong knowledge of Kenyan tax laws (VAT, WHT, WVAT compliance).

Required skills

• Proficiency with accounting software such as TALLY, SAP, ERPNext, Zoho, or Oracle.
• Experience in invoicing, AR posting, reconciliation, credit control and debt collection.
