Adolescent Kit Trainer and Expert Consultant

About the role
This 15‑month remote consultancy aims to strengthen the development and use of UNICEF’s Adolescent Kit to support skills‑based education, youth engagement and mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS) in refugee, displaced and humanitarian contexts.
Key responsibilities
- Provide technical assistance and develop new resources and tools for the Adolescent Kit.
- Lead youth‑led implementation activities and capacity‑building for UNICEF country teams and partners.
- Design and deliver trainings (in‑person and remote) for humanitarian and educational professionals.
- Monitor and evaluate education and youth engagement initiatives using qualitative and quantitative methods.
Required profile
- Master’s degree in international affairs, development, humanitarian affairs, education, psychology or youth development.
- Minimum 10 years of professional experience in education or youth development initiatives within humanitarian response or refugee protection.
- Proven experience designing and implementing life‑skills, psychosocial support or youth development programmes for ages 12‑25 in fragile contexts.
- Fluency in English and strong experience preparing proposals, reports and donor materials.
Required skills
- Knowledge of current research on adolescent education, socio‑emotional and life‑skill development.
- Familiarity with human‑rights frameworks, youth participation policies and civic engagement initiatives.
- Experience using qualitative and quantitative research and evaluation methods, including surveys, interviews and statistical analysis.
- Understanding of UNICEF and inter‑agency guidance such as Core Commitments for Children, IASC Guidelines and education‑in‑emergencies standards.
