AI Domain Architect – Enterprise AI Solutions

About the role

We are seeking an experienced AI Domain Architect to design and build the domain intelligence layer that powers enterprise AI solutions. This senior individual‑contributor role blends high‑level architectural thinking with hands‑on AI engineering, turning concepts into proof‑of‑concepts and scalable standards.

Key responsibilities

• Design and evolve ontologies, knowledge graphs, semantic layers, and canonical domain models for enterprise platforms.
• Define entities, relationships, business rules, and terminology to improve AI retrieval, reasoning, and output quality.
• Architect agentic AI workflows, including task decomposition, tool boundaries, escalation paths, and human‑in‑the‑loop checkpoints.
• Establish strategies for using Retrieval‑Augmented Generation (RAG), fine‑tuning, or prompting based on accuracy, cost, and scalability.
• Set standards for AI dataset preparation, labeling, provenance, governance, and retention.
• Build domain‑specific model evaluation pipelines and reusable AI patterns.
• Develop Proofs of Concept and transition validated approaches into enterprise‑wide standards.
• Work hands‑on with Microsoft Foundry and Azure for model deployment, agent development, evaluation, and safety tooling.
• Partner with product and engineering teams from design through go‑live, producing technical documentation and serving as escalation point for AI architecture decisions.

Required profile

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience in production environments.
• Senior technical level (Staff Engineer, Principal Engineer, Architect or equivalent).
• Hands‑on experience designing ontologies, knowledge graphs, semantic layers, or canonical domain models deployed in production.
• Practical experience building solutions with large language models (LLMs) and/or agentic AI systems.
• Experience with RAG, fine‑tuning, and model evaluation pipelines, with strong judgment on approach selection.
• Hands‑on experience with Microsoft Foundry and Azure services supporting compute, data, identity, and networking.
