Anaesthetist – Full Time Position in Machakos

About the role

We are seeking a qualified Anaesthetist to join Tala Hospital in Machakos. The role involves delivering safe anaesthesia care across a range of surgical and diagnostic procedures, ensuring patient safety before, during and after operations.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct pre‑anaesthetic assessments and develop anaesthesia plans for patients.
• Administer general, regional, local, obstetric and diagnostic anaesthesia.
• Continuously monitor vital signs and manage any intra‑operative complications.
• Provide airway management, advanced life support and post‑operative pain control.
• Collaborate with surgical and nursing teams and supervise junior anaesthesia staff.

Required profile

• Diploma in Clinical Medicine with an HND in Anaesthesia (or equivalent recognised qualification).
• Minimum three years’ experience as a practising anaesthetist in a hospital setting.
• Current registration and a valid practising licence with the relevant medical council.
• Strong knowledge of pharmacology, physiology and anaesthesia equipment.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and teamwork abilities, with capacity to work under pressure.
