About the role
The Kenya College of Interior Design is seeking an enthusiastic Architecture Trainer to join its teaching team in Westlands, Nairobi. You will guide aspiring architects through core design concepts, software tools, and industry best practices, helping them build a solid foundation for their careers.
Key responsibilities
- Plan, design and update training programmes and curricula for architecture courses.
- Deliver engaging classroom and workshop sessions covering architectural theory and practical software applications.
- Conduct training needs analyses to ensure the curriculum meets current industry standards.
- Develop teaching guidelines, assessment materials and project briefs for student evaluation.
- Provide mentorship and feedback to students, fostering a collaborative learning environment.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Interior Design or a related field.
- Teaching qualification preferred (DTTE/PGDE) or equivalent.
- Minimum 2 years of teaching experience or 3 years of professional architectural practice.
- Strong communication skills and ability to convey complex concepts clearly.
- Passion for education and continuous professional development.
Required skills
- Proficiency with Archicad.
- Proficiency with SketchUp.
- Proficiency with Premiere Pro.
- Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc.).
