Learning Science Manager

About the role

The Learning Science Manager will work with a cross‑functional team of education, research and investment professionals to help selected EdTech startups in Nigeria and Kenya embed learning‑science theory and sound pedagogy into their products. The role focuses on improving learner experiences and outcomes through evidence‑based design.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with startups to integrate effective pedagogies, develop assignments, exercises and simulations, and incorporate student feedback.
• Analyse existing pedagogical strengths, identify gaps and create action plans that emphasize diversity, inclusion and belonging.
• Conduct instructional research and contextual analysis to understand target learners and their environments.
• Collaborate with research teams to build frameworks for learner performance assessment.
• Review curriculum design and content delivery, providing constructive feedback.
• Develop African‑context standards and templates to guide startups in adopting learning science for optimal outcomes.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Education, Instructional Design, Educational Technology or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in education or EdTech, with deep knowledge of learning‑science theories and instructional design models.
• Proven ability to design and apply pedagogical strategies across K‑12, tertiary or corporate learning contexts.
• Experience conducting research on pedagogy and curriculum practices.
• Collaborative leadership style with a track record of managing complex, multi‑stakeholder projects.
