Assistant Factory Manager

About the role

The Assistant Factory Manager will support the daily running of the manufacturing plant, ensuring production targets are met while maintaining high standards of quality, safety and efficiency. This role works closely with senior management and cross‑functional teams to keep the factory operating smoothly.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in overseeing daily factory and production operations.
• Coordinate production activities to meet scheduled targets.
• Supervise and coordinate factory staff and production teams.
• Monitor output, quality, efficiency and adherence to health, safety and environmental standards.
• Help manage raw materials, machinery, equipment and other production resources.
• Identify operational challenges and implement practical solutions.
• Coordinate maintenance of production machinery and equipment.
• Track wastage and support cost‑reduction initiatives.
• Prepare and maintain production and operational reports.
• Collaborate with management, stores, procurement, sales and other departments.
• Ensure proper housekeeping and organization of the production environment.

Required profile

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Production Management or a related field.
• At least four years (48 months) of experience in a manufacturing or factory environment.
• Strong understanding of production processes and factory operations.
• Good supervisory and team‑management abilities.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet production targets.
• Problem‑solving and organizational skills.
• Experience in steel or metal manufacturing is an advantage.
