Associate Software Engineer

About the role

Neptune Software Ltd is looking for a motivated Associate Software Engineer to join its development team in Nairobi. The role is suited for recent graduates or professionals with up to two years of experience who are eager to build enterprise and mobile applications using Java and Oracle technologies.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Oracle PL/SQL scripts, packages, procedures, and triggers.
• Build and optimise SQL queries for performance and reliability.
• Analyse business and system requirements and translate them into scalable technical solutions, including mobile UI/UX and REST API integration.
• Perform database administration tasks such as backups, restores, data migration, and health monitoring.
• Debug and troubleshoot production issues, implementing fixes and enhancements.
• Collaborate with business consultants, project managers, and technical teams to ensure timely delivery and smooth deployment.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field.
• At least 1 year of experience in Oracle PL/SQL development.
• Familiarity with database administration and performance tuning.
• Understanding of SDLC methodologies and enterprise application integration.
