Chief Accountant – Finance Leadership Role

About the role

The Chief Accountant will lead the finance function, overseeing all accounting operations and ensuring compliance with Kenyan regulations and international standards. This senior position shapes the company’s accounting strategy and drives process improvements.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and manage cash flow, receivables, payables and inventory controls using Odoo.
• Oversee tax compliance, prepare and submit returns according to the KRA calendar, and manage tax audits.
• Direct day‑to‑day accounting in line with IFRS, lead statutory audits and safeguard company assets.
• Maintain data integrity in Odoo, drive automation projects and document processes for training.
• Coach, mentor and evaluate the accounting team, supporting their professional development.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
• Professional qualification such as CPA‑K or equivalent.
• Minimum 4 years of experience in finance and accounting, including ledger and cash‑flow management, preferably in a multinational environment.
• Proven leadership and team‑management capabilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency with ERP systems, especially Odoo.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS accounting standards.
