Clinical Officer – Oncology

About the role

The Clinical Officer – Oncology will join the oncology department at Maua Methodist Hospital, providing comprehensive clinical care to patients with cancer. This full‑time position is based in Westlands, Kenya, and involves direct patient interaction, diagnosis, and coordination of treatment plans.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver clinical assessment, diagnosis and management of oncology patients.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses and allied health professionals to develop and implement treatment protocols.
• Maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards.
• Provide patient education and supportive care, including palliative services where appropriate.
• Participate in multidisciplinary meetings and continuous quality improvement activities.

Required profile

• Diploma in Clinical Medicine and Surgery.
• Valid registration and license with the Clinical Officers Council (COC).
• Higher Diploma in Oncology, Clinical Oncology, or Palliative Care.
• Minimum three years of clinical experience, preferably in oncology or internal medicine.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) is a plus.
• Strong diagnostic abilities, attention to detail and empathetic communication.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, work under strict deadlines and lead or participate in teams.
• Flexibility to work varied hours and commitment to high ethical standards.
• Strategic leadership and relationship‑building skills.
• Committed Christian with demonstrated maturity in faith.
