Consultant for Finalising Kenya National Eye Health Policy

About the role

The Ministry of Health, supported by The Fred Hollows Foundation, is seeking an experienced consultant to finalise the Kenya National Eye Health Policy. The role involves aligning the draft policy with government guidelines, facilitating validation workshops, and preparing a submission‑ready document for approval.

Key responsibilities

• Review and restructure the existing draft policy to meet Kenyan Government Guidelines on Policy Development.
• Consolidate all draft versions into a single, coherent document and identify any gaps or inconsistencies.
• Facilitate two national policy validation workshops, including preparation of workshop materials and reporting.
• Integrate stakeholder feedback into the final policy draft.
• Support editing, design, printing, dissemination and launch preparations for the policy document.

Required profile

• Master’s degree or PhD in public health, health policy, health systems or a related field.
• Proven experience in developing health policies, preferably in eye health or similar sectors.
• Familiarity with Kenyan government policy development processes and guidelines.
• Demonstrated ability to lead stakeholder and workshop facilitation.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
