Credit Analyst – Commercial Banking

About the role

The Credit Analyst will evaluate commercial banking credit proposals, prepare risk appraisal memos and support the bank’s credit risk management strategy. This role focuses on analysing loan applications, ensuring compliance with policies, and monitoring credit exposures to protect the bank from financial loss.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse loan applications and documentation for commercial banking facilities, ensuring compliance with product parameters, credit policies and underwriting standards.
• Execute the credit underwriting function in line with the bank’s growth strategy, meeting turnaround times and maintaining portfolio quality.
• Conduct World Check screening for adverse mentions and escalate findings to the Compliance Department.
• Perform transaction monitoring to assess customers’ account conduct and risk profiles.
• Manage credit risk exposures within the established risk appetite and standards.
• Evaluate risks associated with individual transactions, products, securities and borrowers.
• Participate in review and assessment of commercial banking products and portfolio, recommending updates.
• Support product digitalisation and system enhancement initiatives for the commercial banking offering.

Required profile

• At least 4 years of experience as a loan appraisal officer or in a related credit analysis role.
• Strong understanding of credit risk, financial analysis techniques and credit appraisal methods.
• Excellent presentation, analytical, communication and planning skills.
• Ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders across the bank and manage key relationships.
