Desktop Technician Level 2 – Nairobi

About the role

The Desktop Technician Level 2 will provide on‑site support for desktop, laptop, telephone and printer equipment in our Nairobi office. You will install, configure and maintain hardware and software, ensuring users can work efficiently with minimal downtime.

Key responsibilities

• Install, configure and troubleshoot desktop and laptop computers (Windows 7, Windows 10, macOS) and VOIP/standard telephones.
• Maintain printers and related peripherals.
• Perform equipment moves with little or no supervision.
• Identify and resolve basic hardware issues; escalate complex problems to Level 1 or supervisors.
• Answer user queries about equipment features and provide basic guidance.
• Support limited‑complexity projects under close management.
• Perform warranty repairs and order replacement parts using manufacturer certifications.

Required profile

• 2–5 years of experience in network or desktop support.
• Understanding of TCP/IP, VLANs, routing, switching, DNS and DHCP.
• Experience with Cisco or similar networking equipment.
• Familiarity with network monitoring tools and ticketing systems.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving abilities.
• Relevant certifications such as CCNA or CompTIA Network+ (advantageous).
• Basic knowledge of Windows Server environments and Active Directory (advantageous).
