Direct Support Professional – Norwich Region

About the role

Springbrook is seeking compassionate Direct Support Professionals to work in the Norwich region. You will help adults and children with intellectual and developmental disabilities live more independent and fulfilling lives across educational, residential, and community settings.

Key responsibilities

• Assist clients with activities of daily living, including personal care and meal preparation.
• Support community outings, recreational activities, and skill‑building tasks.
• Promote choice, independence, and safety while providing protective oversight.
• Ensure compliance with Springbrook policies and state regulations.
• Drive Springbrook vehicles when required and transport clients as needed.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience working with people with developmental disabilities (preferred).
• Flexible schedule – ability to work days, evenings, overnights, weekends and mandatory overtime.
• Physical ability to lift 50 lb independently and assist with heavier loads.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to meet vehicle‑driving requirements.

Required skills

• Professional verbal and written communication.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word.
• Ability to learn additional computer software as needed.
