Direct Support Professional – Otsego Region

About the role

Springbrook is seeking compassionate Direct Support Professionals to assist individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities across educational, residential, and community settings in the Otsego Region. You will help clients with daily activities, promote independence, and create a safe, supportive environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide personal care and support for activities of daily living (ADLs).
• Assist clients with community outings, shopping, recreation, and skill‑building activities.
• Promote choice, independence, and dignity while ensuring safety.
• Follow Springbrook policies and state regulations to maintain program compliance.
• Drive Springbrook vehicles when required and lift up to 50 lb (or assist with heavier loads).
• Adapt to flexible schedules, including evenings, overnights, weekends, and mandatory overtime.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience working with people with developmental disabilities is preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to meet vehicle‑driving requirements.
• Physical ability to lift 50 lb independently and assist with heavier weights.
• Willingness to be reassigned to other locations based on business needs.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Basic computer literacy and ability to learn new software quickly.
