District Engineer

About the role

The District Engineer is responsible for overseeing the planning, design, construction, and maintenance of infrastructure within a designated district. This senior engineering position ensures that projects meet technical standards, budget constraints, and regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage civil engineering projects, including water distribution, wastewater, and related public works.
• Develop and review design specifications, construction plans, and cost estimates.
• Coordinate with internal teams, contractors, and regulatory agencies to ensure compliance and timely project delivery.
• Monitor project progress, resolve technical issues, and ensure quality control.
• Prepare reports, budgets, and performance metrics for district leadership.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
• Extensive experience in managing large‑scale infrastructure projects.
• Strong knowledge of local, state, and federal engineering regulations.
