Driver (Fixed-term, 2 years)

About the role

The Communications Authority of Kenya is recruiting seven drivers on a two‑year fixed‑term contract (renewable once) to support ongoing ICT projects across the country. The role involves safe and timely transportation of authorized passengers and maintaining the Authority’s vehicles.

Key responsibilities

• Driving Authority vehicles in accordance with traffic laws and road safety regulations.
• Conducting daily vehicle checks to ensure roadworthiness before and after journeys.
• Detecting, reporting and following up on mechanical defects, accidents, incidents and maintenance needs.
• Maintaining accurate vehicle records and ensuring proper custody of vehicles, passengers, goods, fuel cards and accessories.
• Coordinating vehicle servicing, repairs, insurance inspections and statutory compliance.
• Ensuring cleanliness, prudent use of fuel and transport resources, and reporting accidents or breakdowns promptly.

Required profile

• Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) with at least a D (Plain) grade or equivalent.
• Minimum two years of driving experience with a clean record.
• Valid Category D2 driving licence without endorsements.
• Pass the Suitability Test for Drivers Grade III.
• First‑Aid Certificate (minimum one week) from a recognized institution.
• Proficiency in computer applications.
• Experience in long‑distance driving on diverse terrains (preferred).
