English Tutor – IELTS & TOEFL Preparation

About the role

English Tutor delivering English language instruction and preparing students for IELTS, TOEFL and Cambridge examinations at DOAN College in Nairobi. The position is full‑time, middle level, based on‑site at the college campus, and reports to the Head of English Department.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s Degree in English, English Literature, Linguistics, Education (English) or a related field from a recognized institution.
• Valid teaching certificate or registration with the relevant professional body.
• At least 2 years teaching experience in a college, TVET or secondary school environment.
• Experience teaching IELTS, TOEFL, PTE, Cambridge English or other international English proficiency examinations.
• Demonstrated proficiency in English grammar, writing, speaking, listening, and reading instruction.
• High level of professionalism, integrity, reliability and commitment to academic excellence.
• Ability to mentor, motivate and support learners from diverse educational and cultural backgrounds.
• Flexibility to work as per the institution’s schedule and ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent research and critical thinking skills.
• Time management skills and attention to detail.
